The Structural Erection Division was brought in to move the ten million pound structure four inches West, freeing an expansion joint pushed shut by the bridge’s movement. The project won a Build Ohio Award in 2009 from the Associated General Contractors of Ohio (AGC).
$15.5 million project involving a three-level parking deck and a new 24-bed ICU addition in Canton, Ohio.
80 years after building the first Rimer Elementary School for Akron Public Schools, Ruhlin completes the replacement building as part of a district-wide improvements program.
The Ruhlin Company provided Construction Management Services to the Ohio School Facilities Commission and Akron Public Schools to construct Northeast Ohio’s third STEM school. The National Inventors Hall of Fame in downtown Akron was renovated to accommodate the new school.
This school is unique as it had been constructed to obtain a LEED Silver certification from the National U.S. Green Building Council.
The project diverted water from Willow Island Locks and Dam through two horizontal 22-MW bulb turbines and generated an average annual output of about 239 GWh. The site included an intake approach channel, a reinforced concrete powerhouse and a tailrace channel. The gross head of the project is 20 feet.
$5.2 million, 18,000 SF outpatient surgery addition and renovation to existing Wooster Family Health Center.
$3.9 million project performing repairs to bridge in Cleveland, Ohio.
The $44 million Bridgestone Akron Technical Center project was a 260,500 SF facility consisting of office and laboratory spaces. The project was completed in multiple phases, with the final phase completed in February 2012.
The $22 million project for the Green Health & Wellness Center is a 96,000 SF building that combines a conventional fitness center with diagnostic imaging, physical therapy and emergency care facilities. The integration of these facilities provides convenient access for both emergent care and wellness services in a centralized location for southern Summit County residents.
After providing services for the district-wide updates for Norwayne Local Schools (formerly Creston), the 1915 building was partially demolished and repurposed to serve as district administrative offices and other facilities for community use.
$38.8 million addition to the existing Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) campus in Rootstown, Ohio.
$58.7 million in improvements to 1.21 miles of I-75 by adding an additional lane in each direction and replacing structures over multiple streets and railroad tracks in Dayton, Ohio.
The Medina County Economic Development Corporation named Jim Ruhlin as Corporate Citizen of the Year.
History was made in under 5 seconds as the I-90 Innerbelt Bridge skeleton was imploded to make way for the new structure in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. Ruhlin and joint ventures begin construction of new eastbound George V. Voinovich Bridge in its place.
$52 million, 176,600 SF building combining fitness areas, meeting and office spaces, and the first STEM+M school in the state in Rootstown, Ohio.
The new Emergency Department building for Akron General Medical Center in downtown Akron will provide more than three times the space and will help enhance patient experience. The Emergency Department is located on the first floor of the new building, with a bridge connecting it to the main hospital. The second floor houses administrative offices, along with 8,500 SF of space for patient bed observation.
Ruhlin provided services for rehabilitation of the Portage Lakes East Reservoir Dam, which was built in 1840.
The Ruhlin Company provided preconstruction and construction services for the construction of the new Elementary and Middle Schools in Tallmadge, Ohio. The project also includes the demolition of existing school buildings to provide space for new construction.
The design is based on 21st century learning environment with a modern exterior made up of brick, metal panels and corrugated metal panels.
