The Ruhlin Company Leadership Team - CEO Jim Ruhlin

Jim Ruhlin, PE

Chairman

As Chairman of The Ruhlin Company, Jim Ruhlin leverages more than 42 years of construction experience to successfully lead the company. As third-generation leader of the employee-owned company, he is responsible for setting and implementing strategic direction while ensuring the highest levels of service to Ruhlin’s clients.

As a well-respected member of the construction industry and business community, Jim prides himself on Ruhlin’s leadership position in the market. Jim’s passion for excellence results in extremely satisfied repeat clients as well as long-term employee retention. Jim is also focused on Ruhlin’s proactive Safety Program by spearheading the Core Safety Committee.

A member of the Ruhlin team since 1980, Jim previously held positions as Ruhlin’s CEO, president, superintendent, project manager, business development manager, and vice president of operations. He held construction management positions on numerous bridge, highway, infrastructure, and building projects before assuming his role of past President and CEO in 1996.

Committed to volunteering with local organizations, Jim encourages Ruhlin and its employees to contribute time and service to the communities where they live and work. He was named Corporate Citizen of the Year by the Medina County Economic Development Corporation and he is a trustee for the Ohio Laborers Pension and Insurance Funds. Jim chairs the Leadership Giving Committee of the United Way of Medina County and maintains involvement with both the Ohio Contractors Association and the Associated General Contractors of America. Jim was a past board member of the Greater Akron Chamber and is past President of the Medina County Economic Development Corporation.

Registered as a Professional Engineer in both Ohio and Colorado, Jim earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado.

Jim has resided in Medina County for over 40 years where he and his wife, Susie, raised their three children.

Jim Ruhlin, Jr, PE

PRESIDENT & CEO

As President and CEO of The Ruhlin Company, Jim Ruhlin Jr, has more than 19 years of construction experience to successfully lead the company. As a fourth-generation leader of the employee-owned company, he is responsible for the operations of the companies four divisions. He also oversees the shop and capital equipment.

Jim began his career with The Ruhlin Company in 2007 and has held various roles within all four divisions of the company at one time or another including Laborer, Project Engineer, Superintendent, Project Manager, Operations Manager and COO.

Jim’s work experience includes highway, buildings, dam, and industrial construction. This experience includes field supervision, scheduling of work, resource management, subcontractor coordination, purchasing, labor and equipment analysis, equipment operating, safety, and quality control.

Registered as a Professional Engineer in Ohio, Jim earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Bucknell University.

Sean Demlow

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER, SECRETARY & TREASURER

Sean Demlow is Chief Financial Officer of The Ruhlin Company and brings nearly 34 years of experience in finance, banking, investment-banking, manufacturing, and corporate management to his role. Sean has been an integral member of Ruhlin’s team since 2019.

Sean is responsible for managing the company’s financial transactions, including accounting systems, management information systems, cash management, and financial reporting. He also handles Ruhlin’s insurance coverages, bonding, administration of employee benefit plans, and manages the company’s Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

He is active in the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) and holds the Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) designation.

Sean earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Finance from The University of Akron, and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Kent State University.

Sean grew up in Orrville, Ohio, and is now a resident of the city of Wadsworth.  He enjoys outdoor activities such as kayaking, camping, fishing, and motorcycling.  When not outdoors, he is an avid reader and enjoys writing.

Brady Oaks

BUILDING DIVISION GENERAL MANAGER

Brady Oaks, General Manager of the Building Division, joined Ruhlin in 2001 as a co-op and over the next 14 years evolved from a project engineer to a superintendent within the building division, he returned to Ruhlin in 2022. Brady has focused in his 21-year career on commercial building construction under general contracting, construction management, IPD, and Design Build contracts. Brady has experience specializing in public safety, healthcare, K-12, and higher education projects.

Brady is actively involved during all phases of Ruhlin’s building division projects, both during preconstruction and construction activities. Brady has experience in all forms of construction delivery methods and provides customized building solutions from preconstruction planning through estimating, value engineering, construction and activation.

Involved in a variety of industry and trade associations, Brady is a member of the American Society of Healthcare Engineers. Brady is currently active with the Associated General Contractors, having served as President of the AGC Akron Division.

Brady earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering Technology and Associate of Applied Science from The University of Akron. He is a LEED GA Professional, Last Planner Trained, & ASHE-Certified Professional.

Brady currently resides in Wadsworth with his wife, Sarah and (2) children. Brady enjoys spending time with his family, sports, bow hunting, and fishing.

Michael Ciammaichella, PE

VICE PRESIDENT & HEAVY CIVIL DIVISION GENERAL MANAGER

Michael Ciammaichella, Vice President, and General Manager of the Heavy Civil Division, has more than 39 years of construction experience. With a depth of experience spanning project management, estimating, scheduling, and cost control.

Mike has performed work in both the public and private sectors with projects involving highways, bridges, solid waste facilities, brownfields remediation, industrial landfills and hydroelectric power plants. Notable projects include ODOT’s Cuyahoga County I90 CCG2 Innerbelt Bridge, IR270/US23 trench project in Columbus, IR75 third lane widening in Dayton, IR71/IR76 interchange reconstruction in Medina County, and American Municipal Power’s Willow Island cofferdam and hydroelectric powerhouse on the Ohio River.

A member of Ruhlin’s team since 2008, Mike is responsible for all operations related to the company’s civil division.

He is an active member of the Ohio Contractors Association serving on the organization’s Board of Directors and acting Chairman of the Board, Teamsters/OCA Health and Welfare Fund Employer Trustee, and the Chairman of the Heavy-Highway Specification Committee.

He serves on the Board of Trustees for the Ohio Teamsters Apprenticeship and Journeyman Training Fund, is active in the Cleveland Construction Employers Association’s Deep Foundation Contractors Association and serves as the Chairman for the Advisory Council for the College of Engineering Increasing Diversity in Engineering Academics (IDEAs) Program at The University of Akron.

Mike earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Akron and is a registered Professional Engineer in Ohio and West Virginia.

Mike is from Medina County and loves to travel with his wife, Donna and two children.

George Seanor

INDUSTRIAL DIVISION GENERAL MANAGER

George Seanor, is the Industrial Division General Manager for The Ruhlin Company and has 45 years of industrial and building construction experience. He has been a member of the Ruhlin team since 2012.

He is responsible for coordination of all operations of the division, inclusive of resources, staffing, quality, safety, estimating, business development, and performance.

George has a strong background in industrial and commercial construction. His experience includes work with industrial, power generation, treatment plants, and building clients. Projects include hydroelectric power, steel mills, melt shops, tube mills, food processing plants, research and development facilities, precast and steel erection, pre-engineered metal buildings, piling, and equipment installation. George is experienced with multiple project delivery methods including design-bid-build, design-build, IPD and construction management.

He is active with The Northern Ohio Quarter Horses Association, is a past President and sits on the executive committee. He is also an executive committee board member of the Ohio Quarter Horses Association. George is a former board member for the Catholic Youth Council and the Canton Regional Society of Professional Engineers. George is an Eagle Scout and former Scout Leader.

George earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from The Ohio State University.

George resides in Stark county with his wife, Pat. He enjoys sailing, riding and showing Quarter Horses.

Ben Neal

STRUCTURAL DIVISION GENERAL MANAGER

Ben Neal, is the Structural Division General Manager for The Ruhlin Company and has over 23 years of construction experience. He has been a member of the Ruhlin team since 2003.

His experience encompasses a solid background in complex and strategic planning and construction implementation. Ben is thoroughly familiar with general contracting and heavy civil construction. He has successfully supervised many large projects working with multiple engineering firms in a fast-paced environment.

Ben has performed work for both public and private owners, including movable bridges over navigable waterways, Heavy Civil construction projects and structural rehabilitation of bridges. Notable clients include the Ohio Department of Transportation and Norfolk Southern Corp.

Ben is responsible for all duties of the Structural Division from bidding to purchasing and steel erection.

He is an active member of the Association for Bridge Construction and Design (ABCD) as well as Heavy Movable Structures.

Ben resides in North Canton with his wife, Stephanie. He enjoys spending time being active outdoors or being home with his wife and two dogs.

Jeremy Angel, PE

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Jeremy Angel, is the Director of Operations for The Ruhlin Company and has over 26 years of construction experience. He has been a member of the Ruhlin team since 1997.

His experience encompasses a solid background in complex and strategic planning and construction implementation. Jeremy is thoroughly familiar with general contracting and heavy civil construction. He has successfully supervised many large projects working with multiple superintendents and engineers in a fast-paced environment.

With a background in civil engineering, estimating, project management, scheduling, and cost control, Jeremys’ management style and professional relationships have earned the confidence of owners and industry peers.

Jeremy has performed work for both public and private owners, including long span bridges over navigable waterways, Heavy Civil construction projects, movable bridges and structural rehabilitation of bridges. Notable clients include the Ohio Department of Transportation, the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission, American Municipal Power, Norfolk Southern and The Cuyahoga Port Authority.

Jeremy provides guidance and leadership to all divisions regarding management practices, scheduling of work and operating procedures. As well as ensures that projects are properly staffed with the necessary skill set to be successful.

He is an active member of the Ohio Contractors Association (OCA) serving on the Specification Committee and has been involved with the OCA estimating competition for the past several years. Jeremy is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Association for Bridge Construction and Design (ABCD) and Associated General Contractors.

Jeremy resides in Summit county with his wife, Linsea. He enjoys spending time with friends and family as well as playing golf.

Don Rife, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP

VICE PRESIDENT – BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Don Rife, as Vice President of Business Development, is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic marketing plans, development of specific market segments, identification and development of relationships with potential clients as well as maintain relationships with current/past clients. Don has more than 33 years experience and his been with the Ruhlin team since 2009.

Don is responsible for all business development and marketing activities. He enjoys working with clients early in the development of projects to advance the design to the construction phase.

Don specialized in corporate interior and research design for many years working with Fortune 500 companies to create collaborative work spaces and incorporate culture change through new work space design.

Don is a board member of AIA Akron and AIA Ohio. He is also a board member of Medina County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC). He is a past board member of Licking/Knox County Goodwill, Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital Foundation Board, Columbus AIA, past President of AIA Akron Chapter, and a Leadership Medina County Alumni.

Don graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design. He is a licensed architect in Ohio and Michigan. He is a LEED Accredited Professional and NCARB certified.

Don resides in Sharon Center with his wife, Dana and son. He enjoys camping and is a member of the Hill ‘N Dale Club.
